I came to the conclusion that my EL Pinwheel side project was collecting dust, so I gave an Artisan's Asylum burner the star, and some extra AA's to have some fun with it. I hope to possibly see this wind up in the background shot or a video of some playa action, but I doubt it will make it back into my hands in one piece. :)

I was fully expecting it to either be stolen, or suffering from engineering door failure. However, what I found was that it had been only partially vandalized and beaten by some extreme Summer weather ... it was, however, still standing. Remarkably it also seemed to be faired pretty well. Last month, I had a chance to once again attend this year's eyeofestival in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Once again it did not disappoint, and there were many adventures to be had, new ideas to share, and knowledge to be consumed. Eyeo remains one of my favorite yearly conferences.
At opening night, Zach Lieberman gave a "keynote" which consisted of a hand written letter read aloud to the audience. He also announced a new venture; a school for "computational poets" called "SFPC" -- or "School for Poetic Computation". Read more »
